  • Great except for the ending....

    3.5 because it certainly was a page turner for me but the ending felt way too rushed. Major part of any crime story is evidence collection & analysis so why in the end does the culprit have to show himself for the crime to be solved?!?! Reflects poorly on the deduction skills of the mc.

    Kept my attention. Didn’t want tp put it down. Ending was abrupt. Of course you’ll need to read the second book and possibly the third or more to find out how everything turns out. I’m not really a sequence reader, but I’ve read other books from this author and do enjoy her writing.

    Frankly this might be one of the worst books I have ever read. As you approach the end nothing makes sense. A thriller in which readers are not involved, it does not carry you to the end. And the main character is a winging, self-referential, tiresome character that makes even less sense.

    This is a good book, then again, I said BUT. What is that but? You spelled my name wrong, it’s not Vaughn, but it’s Vaughan. Pronounced the same, spelled differently. It’s a homophone.

    I read 4 book in a week. And yes I work and have a life. But the more I read I found it hard to put the book down. The first one is by far the best book in the series. I hated the ending but it made me pick up the next book. I will agree with some of the other reviews when it comes to who us talk big in the book. Sometimes you didn't know who was talking and I found myself going back and reading over to find out who was talking. I also thought I was going crazy when I felt some one the sentences were off. I'm not a English major but from reading the reviews I was correct. I'm going to read the last one and hope I get something out of it. I love the relationship between Jack and J.J. And love how it grows to more later on in the series. A must read.

    This book was wonderful and well written. The story holds your attention with suspense and the right amount of smoldering tension. I couldn't hardly put it down without hearing the call to read on. All in all, great read and highly recommended for people who love a mystery with witty banter and a lovey twist.
  • Bad ending, but still don't regret reading it

    It didn't take me long to read this book because it pulled me in from the beginning and kept me interested. But like most of the reviewers, I found the ending to be weak and disappointing. I was expecting the revelation of the killer to be a real jaw dropping moment, but it turned out to be a character that was barely mentioned, and was accompanied by a totally new side story to justify it. Oh, and did anybody even bother to edit this book??
